The CrowdPlus.asia equity crowdfunding (ECF) platform has been launched across five Asian markets, with its operator describing ECF as an alternative, if not downright disruptive, avenue for startups and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to raise funds.
“ECF is especially important in Malaysia because Malaysia has abundant companies, entrepreneurs and ideas that need to be financed,” said CrowdPlus.asia chairman Teh Kim Seng.

The platform is backed by Netrove Ventures Group which will share their know-how in VC investments as well as mentorship for founders.
CrowdPlus is one of the six licensees Securities Commission Malaysia approved for ECF in June this year.

KUALA LUMPUR: Platform pendanaan masyarakat berbentuk ekuiti (ECF) pertama ASEAN, CrowdPlus.asia dilancarkan bagi menawarkan dana alternatif kepada syarikat pemula dan perusahaan kecil dan sederhana (PKS) memula dan mengembangkan perniagaan.
Timbalan Menteri Kewangan, Datuk Chua Tee Yong, berkata pengenalan platform ECF itu mempamerkan kebolehan pantas Malaysia dalam mengguna pakai trend terkini ekonomi global.

（吉隆坡13日讯）財政部副部长拿督蔡智勇指出，大马是东盟国家首个推出「股票群眾募资（ECF）」平台的国家。
他说，政府意识到扩展股票群眾募资的重要性，因此大马成了东南亚首个设立监管框架的国家，即马来西亚股票群眾募资平台（MyECF）。他表示，政府同时也在27个海內外国家中，严格批准了6个股票群眾募资（ECF）平台。

Netrove announces that Pixels (www.pixels.asia), in which it has invested since 2006, has agreed a cash and share deal with Gravity4 (www.gravity4.com) and at a stroke has become the Asia office of the Gravity4 group and Kevin Huang, Pixels’ founder and CEO will become the Asian CEO of Gravity4.
Netrove’s Chairman congratulated all Pixels’ shareholder and staff on the landmark deal and becoming part of a Silicon Valley new media and advertising brand.
Kevin Huang, Gravity4’s Asia CEO said “I’m more happy to see my team happy and proud to now be part of a global organization. They are all so proud now to be a Silicon Valley company.”
Kim Seng, Chairman of Netrove commented, “As part of the deal, Netrove now is a shareholder in a Silicon Valley phenomenon as well. Thank you Kevin.”

PUTRAJAYA: Beginning September, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), can raise capital using the crowdfunding platform.
Individuals can invest from RM500 to RM5,000, said the Secretariat for the Advancement of Malaysian Entrepreneurs (Same) chief executive officer, Neil Foo.
